Translator of poetry Ignatiy Ivanovsky died in Saint-Petersburg


Last week Ignatiy Ivanovsky died in Saint-Petersburg. Translator of poetry left an enormous number of books translated from Scottish and English including all Shakespeare sonnets. He was awarded the prize of the Swedish Academy for poetry translations. Also, he is famous for his literary works, and Ivanovsky considered himself a disciple of Akhmatova, Lozinskiy, and Marshak.
